Talk Story Festival honors the time-long tradition of storytelling and oral history. Talk Story Festival is Hawaii's oldest and largest storytelling celebration. Our theme this year is He Lei Aloha (lei of love) where all things lei will be shared through oli (chant), mele (song), hula (hula) and moolelo (story). Come join us because Every Day is Lei Day in Hawaii.  This event is free. Parking is $6. Come hear Don Blanding give a reading from his book, "Hula Moons" on how May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii got started. Others tellers include Manako Tanaka, Kamaka Pili and Kuahiwi Moniz who will share their lei stories. Following our tellers will be a panel of lei makers. Rounding out the evening will be music and hula. You'll even get a chance to learn how to make a lei!
