Winter in Waikiki: A Suite Escape Itinerary

Brrrr! Feeling chilly where you live? Waikiki is the perfect place to get away this time of year. Think: Hawaiian sunshine, warm waves, swaying palm trees and refreshing Mai Tai cocktails. So, what are you waiting for?

Right now, you can take advantage of the Ocean Suite Deal at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk. Save up to 35% when you book a minimum three-night stay in an Ocean View Suite, plus no resort charge. Of course, you'll also receive the complimentary made-to-order breakfast and evening reception, too!

The winter months also bring unique sights and activities to Waikiki. We've crafted an ideal three-night, four-day itinerary full of natural wonders, authentic culture, amazing entertainment and delicious eats. Read on for all the details.

Day 1 (Thursday)
3 p.m. Check In
Step into your Ocean View Suite and admire the vistas of the Pacific Ocean from your private lanai. Then, make yourself at home in your spacious one- or two-bedroom suite.

5:30 p.m. Sip at Sunset
Toast to your first night on vacation with a Mai Tai or Blue Hawaii cocktail at our complimentary poolside reception. Then, enjoy live music by local musicians (Wednesdays – Sundays) at our poolside lounge, Pakini Bar.

Day 2 (Friday)
7 a.m. Take a Yoga Class
Start your day with our Sunrise Yoga class located on the Grand Lanai, offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Stretch and strengthen outdoors and enjoy the trade wind breeze and swaying palm trees. Sign up at the front desk!

10 a.m. Explore the North Shore
Rent a car to discover the iconic surf breaks on the island: Pipeline, Sunset and Waimea Bay. Winter swells bring big, impressive waves that only the pros should tackle. Watch the action and cheer them on from a safe perch on shore.

8:30 p.m. See a Show
Cirque du Solei's Auana premiered in Waikiki in late 2024 at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. You'll witness awe-inspiring acts, world-class acrobatics, outrageous comedy, mesmerizing hula and captivating music which honor Hawaiian culture and history.

Day 3 (Saturday)
8 a.m. Go Whale Watching
Now through May is the ideal time to get up-close to humpback whales visiting Hawai‘i's warm waters during their annual migration. Book a whale watch catamaran sail to see these gentle giants spout and breech.

2 p.m. Learn about Hawaiian Culture
Immerse yourself in Hawaiʻi's rich culture and heritage at Bishop Museum. There are several special exhibits on view now: find out about Hawaiian royal Queen Emma, explore the Northwest Hawaiian Islands, and see a display about rare and critically endangered Hawaiian birds. Bonus: as a hotel guest, you'll receive one free child admission with each paying adult.

6 p.m. Solve a Mystery
If you plan your trip for the fourth Saturday of the month (Jan. 25, Feb. 22, etc.), you'll have a chance to book The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Show right here at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk. Work to solve a chilling crime while enjoying an Italian-inspired buffet dinner. Expect lots of laughter and maybe even a few unexpected surprises!

Day 4 (Sunday)
8 a.m. Eat Breakfast
It's your last morning to enjoy the hotel's complimentary breakfast bar. Customize your own omelet and try the local favorite, Portuguese sausage!

11 a.m. Check Out
The time has come to say goodbye, but don't be sad because we know you'll be back again soon. A hui hou (until we meet again)!
