Top 10: Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Waikiki

Summer nights are even sweeter in Waikiki thanks to the stunning sunsets. Each evening is a unique show of vibrant colors – orange, pink, purple – that paint the sky over the Pacific Ocean. We invite you to slow down and take a pause in your day to watch the sun seemingly sink into the Pacific Ocean. And, keep a look out for the elusive ‘green flash,' seen best when the horizon is clear of clouds!

Enjoy the sunset from several vantage points at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk, take a short walk to the sands of Waikiki Beach, or experience the sight from the water. Read on for our list of the best places to savor the sunset. But, wherever you choose, make sure to have your camera ready to capture the moment.

1.    Pakini Bar
Position yourself at our poolside Pakini Bar during golden hour where you can sip tropical cocktails and enjoy the scenery. Order the limited-time cocktail special, Pakini Sunset, crafted with Antica Sweet Vermouth, Giffard Crème de Cassis, Carpano Botanical Bitters, Carpano Dry Vermouth, lychee liqueur, mango, and pineapple juice.

2.    On Waikiki Beach
Bring a towel or blanket and choose your spot along the 2-mile stretch of white sand. To take it next-level, bring musubi from Musubi Cafe Iyasume or poke bowls from Poké Bar for a scenic picnic.

3.    Barefoot Beach Café
This casual alfresco restaurant has a prime waterfront location within Kapiolani Park, plus nightly live music. Order a smoothie served up in a real pineapple!

5.    Waikiki Pier
Venture out onto this jetty and watch the sunset from the pavilion at the end. It's also a great spot to observe talented surfers and body boarders!

6.    Private Lanai
You don't have to go far to enjoy the sunset! Just step out onto your private balcony at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk (suite views vary) and enjoy the warm, trade wind breeze.

7.    Sky Waikiki
For a luxe lookout, head to Sky Waikiki. This rooftop seafood and champagne bar boasts 360-degree views of Waikiki from 19 floors up.

8.    Kuilei Cliffs Beach Park
This narrow roadside park is perched above the Pacific Ocean on the edge of Diamond Head. During the day it's packed with surfers, but in the evening spectators flock here to watch the sunset.
