So much so that we dream-up a new concoction each month that pairs perfectly with our poolside experience on the Grand Lanai. Whether you are sunbathing in a private cabana, soaking in the whirlpool spa, or toasting to golden hour, our Pakini Bar and Lounge has THE refreshment to send you to vacation bliss.
Our special for September is the Piña Primera. This creamy, coconutty blended indulgence is a handcrafted creation by our bartender Lewis Somera who has been mixing drinks at Embassy Suites Waikiki since the hotel's grand opening in 2006. He knows his stuff! Come by the Pakini Bar and Lounge to say ‘aloha' and ask what he is whipping up that day.
Even if you cannot be here with us in Waikiki, Lewis slipped us the recipe (mahalo!), so you can make it at home and be transported to paradise from your own backyard. Stay tuned for October's cocktail which is sure to be a tropical triumph as well!
Piña Primera
Ingredients
1.5oz SelvaRey Coconut Rum
Splash of Pineapple Juice
Piña Colada Mix (to fill)
Ice
SelvaRay Chocolate Rum
Directions
Add the first four ingredients to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and add a SelvaRay Chocolate Rum floater. Garnish with a fresh pineapple spear, maraschino cherry and umbrella (of course!). Yield: One 16oz blended drink.
