Oh What Fun! Holiday Happenings in Waikiki

The weather outside isn't "frightful," but the celebrations, shopping and Santa sightings are "delightful" this time of year in Waikiki. We've rounded up a list of festive events, merry music, and dazzling light displays to make your holidays extra jolly while on vacation at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk. 


Honolulu City Lights
Now through December 29 at Honolulu Hale in Downtown  

Celebrate the season at this annual month-long spectacle of lights featuring Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele statues, Christmas tree displays, and family photo opportunities.

Meet Aloha Santa
Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. now through December 23 at Royal Hawaiian Center
Watch a festive holiday performance at 5 p.m., then take a free photo with an island-style Santa. Plus, enjoy a complimentary peppermint cookie from Honolulu Cookie Company!

 


Hawai‘i Holiday Craft & Gift Fair
December 8-10 at Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall
Support local small businesses while accomplishing your holiday shopping at this event showcasing 250 vendors offering crafts, art, clothing, and treats.

Santa's Arrival to Waikiki
December 9 at 9 a.m. on the beach fronting Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort
For an only-in-Hawai‘i experience, welcome Santa as he lands on the white sands of Waikiki Beach via outrigger canoe.
 


Christmas in Hawai‘i with Kimié Miner
December 15 & 16 at Blue Note Hawai‘i
Enjoy an intimate evening of music with timeless carols and original songs from GRAMMY-nominated local artist Kimié Miner and friends. A portion of the proceeds from the shows will benefit Maui families in need during the holiday season. 
 


Breakfast with Santa
December 16 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort

Seven Days of Christmas – Holiday Mele Showcase
December 19 to December 25 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waikiki Beach Walk
This week-long celebration of traditional hula and song features different local hula halau and well-known entertainers each evening. You may even be able to hear the music from your private lanai at Embassy Suites!

Hawai‘i's Queen of Soul, Paula Fuga, shares her talent and favorite holiday tunes, from backyard kanikapila to sophisticated blues, in a swanky supper club setting.
 


New Years' Eve Fireworks
December 31 at midnight
Watch a grand fireworks display with your toes in the sand along iconic Waikiki Beach. The fireworks will be shot off from a barge offshore.
