Fall Festivals: 10 Must-Attend Events in Waikiki

 

Autumn in Waikiki is action-packed with ethnic expos, parades, sports competitions, artistic showcases, and more. August 11, 2024 - Na Hula Festival
Admire the grace and beauty of hula at this outdoor event with performances by dance groups, the Royal Hawaiian Band, and the Lei Queen and her Court. Bring a picnic to enjoy under the Monkeypod trees! 

 

August 17-25, 2024 - Duke's OceanFest
This water sports event celebrates the life and legacy of Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, a legendary waterman and ambassador of aloha. Watch surf contests, an outrigger canoe regatta, hydrofoil challenge, and an open ocean swim race – all in the waters off Waikiki.  

 

August 23-25, 2024 - Made in Hawaii Festival
Looking for unique souvenirs? At this local fan-favorite festival expect to shop more than 700 vendors selling products from Hawaii. Plus, enjoy cooking demos, fashion shows, music and more. 

 

August 31 & Sept 1, 2024 - Okinawan Festival
Celebrate this culture hailing from southern Japan by eating andagi (fried dough balls), dress up in traditional kimono, watch dance troupes, and enjoy children's activities. 

 

September 6-8, 2024 – Comic Con Honolulu
Dress up as your favorite character, shop for fandom merchandise, attend panels, and mingle with fans like you at this event honoring comics, video games, television, movies, and pop culture.

September 7, 21 & 28 - Aloha Festivals
Hawaiian culture is on display at this annual month-long festival. Witness the pageantry of the Royal Court Investiture on September 7, attend the block party on September 21, and cheer on the procession of horseback riders, bands and dignitaries in the Floral Parade on September 28. 

 

October 2-13, 2024 - Hawaii International Film Festival 
Watch screenings of movies from Hawaii and around the world, catch never-before-seen premieres, and ask questions at exclusive panels with directors, actors, and producers. 

 

October 19, 2024 - Honolulu Pride Parade & Festival
Watch the rainbow of participants, musicians, and performers march down Kalakaua Avenue in this annual parade. Then, continue the party with an evening of entertainment, food, and craft vendors at the Waikiki Shell.

November 6-10, 2024 – Hawaii Food & Wine Festival
From a wine-focused event to a playful cocktail party to a brunch honoring women chefs, this week of foodie fun celebrates local Hawaii ingredients and brings together more than 150 chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, and tastemakers from around the globe. 

 

December 8, 2024 – Honolulu Marathon
Whether you are a distance runner or not, join in on the excitement as thousands of runners race the 26.2 miles through Waikiki in the fourth largest marathon in the United States.
